Cancelled game refixed on neutral ground
May 08, 2008
The ESB MHC match between Meath and Laois that failed to take place last weekend has been refixed for Clane, with the Royals losing home advantage.
The match was originally due to take place in Pairc Tailteann but when Laois arrived at the ground, they were later informed that the match was transferred to Boardsmill, some 20 miles away.
Laois refused to travel to the re-arranged venue and looked to have the game played at the neighbouring Navan O'Mahony's, but Meath baulked at this request.
The Leinster Council have refixed the game for the Kildare venue next Wednesday evening at 7pm, with Meath forfeiting home advantage.
