RTE have moved to assure counties competing in the Christy Ring, Nicky Rackard and Tommy Murphy Cups that the finals of the three competitions will receive live TV coverage. Concern had been raised about the competitions not receiving TV coverage after they weren't included in RTE's schedule of live championship matches which was announced last Friday. However, a spokesperson for the national broadcaster said showing this year's finals was just a matter of getting the logistics right for the busy August Bank Holiday weekend. "We've been delighted to be involved with the Christy Ring, Nicky Rackard and Tommy Murphy Cup competitions over the last couple of years. "We will be covering the three competitions this year. We haven't finalised the details on how exactly what we are doing yet regarding live coverage as it is a very busy weekend with the football qualifiers also. "But it's a great stage for teams that don't have a chance usually to play at Croke Park to get to play in a final and also to be seen live on RTE television." Tweet
