Minor football final to be screened live in UK

September 10, 2010
English-based Irish men, women and children will be able to tune into live coverage of the All-Ireland minor football next weekend, it has been confirmed.

The Premier Sports broadcaster had opted against offering live coverage of the Clare-Kilkenny minor hurling final last Sunday, with an English non-league soccer encounter between Newport County and Wrexham instead the subject of live TV pictures.

However, Premier Sports have confirmed that next weekend's Tyrone-Cork football clash will be available to UK viewers live before the Cork-Down senior decider.

Quoted in the Irish Post, a Premier Sports spokesman said, "We will be showing the All-Ireland Minor Football final live. We show up to 50 hours of GAA coverage per week and will also be showing International Rules in October."
