Longford star Francis McGee will miss Dromore's Longford Senior Football Championship final against Longford Slashers.

Dromard and Slashers go head-to-head in the Peter Hanley Motors-sponsored showpiece at Pearse Park on Sunday fortnight, September 26th.

But McGee, the ace forward who has played a key role in Dromard's march to the showpiece, will miss the game after sustaining a serious Achilles tendon injury.

The Longford county forward, who scored 1-7 in Longford's four-point All-Ireland qualifier defeat to subsequent finalists Down earlier this summer, will undergo an operation and could face six months on the sidelines. Tweet
