Wexford and Offaly toss for venue
November 21, 2008
Wexford and Offaly have agreed to toss for home advantage for both hurling and football should they clash in the 2009 Leinster championship.
Wexford will face Offaly in the Leinster hurling quarter-final on Saturday, May 30, while should Offaly defeat Kildare in their football first round clash, they will also meet Wexford in the provincial quarter-final. The county that loses the first toss will automatically receive home advantage for the second game.
Should Wexford face Kildare in the football game, it will be played in Carlow's Dr Cullen Park.
Wexford chairman Ger Doyle informed delegates at this week's county board meeting that as both games are due to be televised, home advantage for one of the games would see the board receive EUR40,000 from RTE, while gate receipts could come to a further EUR10,000 dependent on attendance.
