Mayo man delighted with Harps win
November 13, 2008
Not everyone Mayo supporter left Markievicz Park disappointed last Sunday after Eastern Harps had defeated Ballaghderreen in the Connacht club SFC semi final.
For Eastern Harps goalkeeper Brendan McHugh is a former Garrymore player, who transferred to the Sligo club three years ago after he married into the area.
McHugh is in his first full season with the Harps senior team and he admits that the year just keeps getting better and better after each game.
"It's been a great year, winning four medals already with the Harps, and beating Ballaghderreen was a dream come true," said McHugh.
"We started slowly on Sunday and weren't winning enough breaks in the first half. But once we got level in the second half we kicked on and finished strongly."
