Walsh ready for challenge

November 13, 2008
New Sligo manager Kevin Walsh knows that he faces a tough task in his first managerial role, but the former All-Ireland winner is relishing the job that lies ahead. Walsh was installed as manager of the Yeats County last week and he has brought in former players Paul Taylor, Dessie Sloyan and Paul Durcan as selectors. The former Galway footballer is confident that he can restore some pride in the Sligo jersey following a disastrous campaign in 2008. "It's a big challenge, but one that I'm firmly committed too," stressed Walsh. "I wouldn't have sought the job if I didn't feel that I could do it. "There is a lot of hard work ahead of us but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I can't wait to get started."
