Raymond aiming for more glory
November 13, 2008
Recently crowned Nicky Rackard Cup Hurler of the Year Keith Raymond is bidding for another piece of silverware this weekend as his club Calry/St Joseph's take on Galway side Skehana in the Connacht club JHC final.
Raymond has had an exceptional year, scoring 1-8 from play in the Nicky Rackard Cup final as Sligo defeated Louth in the final, while he was named the GPA Player of the Championship at last Friday night's awards ceremony.
Nonetheless, he will turn his attentions to the Connacht club final on Sunday and stresses that the majority of the team know what it takes to win a title.
"Thirteen members of the Sligo panel that won the Rackard Cup are playing with Clary so we know what it takes to win big matches," said Raymond.
"We have some serious hurlers in our squad and while any team from Galway has to be respected, there is no reason why we should fear them."
