The identity of Galway's new hurling manager will be known by next Tuesday night. The eight candidates for the post will be interviewed this Thursday and Friday night, and a second interview will take place next Monday if a shortlist is drawn up. Galway county board chairman and selection committee member Gerry Larkin said: "We hope to carry out initial interviews later this week and complete the process early next week. We hope to be in a position to announce the new manager at a meeting of Galway hurling board next Tuesday night." Former manager and double All-Ireland winning captain Conor Hayes has been drafted in to assist in finding a suitable replacement for Ger Loughnane.
