Galway clubs hit with hefty fines
November 05, 2008
Two Galway clubs have been handed large fines from the County Board following the end on their junior football final.
Both the An Spideal and Aran Islands clubs were dished 3,000 and 2,000 euro fines respectively, after the violent scenes that broke out and marred the West Board junior decider.
Numerous players, officials and spectators, from both sides, were involved in the melee that broke out at Pearse Stadium last month at the full-time whistle, which signalled An Spideal's victory.
The Galway Board have also warned both over their future conduct.
