The Offaly flag flies proudly

The concluding stage of the Adam Mangan Festival of Football took place over the weekend.

And there was success for the host county Offaly in one of the Plate finals after they defeated Laois in Kilclonfert on Saturday. Wicklow won the other Plate final by beating Offaly's other team in Daingean.

Clare defeated Roscommon by 3-9 to 3-5 in the Shield final in Kilclonfert yesterday. The Cup final between Mayo and Louth was postponed due to a bereavement in the Mayo management and will be played at a later date.

The tournament has become the main competition for inter-county U15 football teams from all over Ireland since its inception in 2016. It honours the memory of rising Kilclonfert and Offaly sports all-rounder Adam Mangan who passed away tragically in October 2015.
