These aren't serious errors of judgement they are calculated risks done by people who gave no regard for the GAA only their own self gratification. So they got 12 weeks during the down season and give up a couple of home league matches with no one in attendance. Wow arent Croke Park dishing out the punishment!!!??

Ban entire groups of players? Ridiculous. No sign of such outrageous punishments when Down and Cork were caught months ago. Dublin should be treated the same as other counties, being successful doesn't warrant excessive punishments. Not a chance that a punishment you're both suggesting would stand after an appeal.

both those counties should also have faced similar bans

unfortunately with Cork and Dublin involved there was never going to be a proper punishment

Claretandblue, i don't think anyone is suggesting that Dublin are to be treated differently to anyone else. Each County involved needs to be severely reprimanded and not just the manager. These are educated footballers and County Board Officials involved who should have known better. The County Board needs to be hit where it hurts by maybe withholding funding from them for a year (although that wont hurt Dublin). This was all unnecessary (these players are likely doing some fitness work on their own so there was no real need) and is a real smack in the face for all those poor nurses and doctors who must be exhausted at this stage.

I agree totally but there was nowhere near the criticism when Down and Cork breached the guidelines four months ago. Treat all counties the same punishment wise, calling for 40-50 players to be suspended is not on. Not realistic.

Paper never refused ink Claretandblue. The media and Social Media were calling for that but the GAA would not entertain that. I do find it bizarre that County Boards are imposing 12 week ban's on managers. The same County Boards who were complicit in the whole thing. Where is the punishment from Croke Park on this? Old fogies sitting on their hands as usual.
