On a glorious Autumn evening in Tang, Castledaly continued to show their improvement this year under the management of Enda Sheridan and assistant Eoin Jordan.

St Malachy's were first off the mark but thanks to strong Castledaly defending and some excellent forward play, we reached the half time leading

2-10  0-05 thanks to a goal each from Kevin Stone and Adam Turley, and points from

Kevin,  Lorcan, Michael Lynch, Alan Stone, Dan Heavin, with strong contributions from all but especially Liam Fitzpatrick, Paddy Holloway, Justin Coughlan, David Stone, Dan Heavin. Our defensive play kept the impressive St. Malachys forwards reduced to fewer scoring opportunities but on 3 occasions we relied on top class saves from Jordan Nugent diving bravely to keep his team on the up.

The second half became a slower more defensive game with Castledaly adding five valuable points and performances from Alan , MJ, Lorcan , Jordan, John and Dan, with Fergal Hynes in particular unlucky not to see his efforts add his name to the scoreboard. A great squad performance from everyone, and great team spirit.  We wish our injured team mates a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them back at their best soon.

Congrats and continued best wishes to CILL OIGE LGFA and GAA underage teams who have been impressive in reaching their respective county finals and semifinals in the recent few weeks.

Congratulations also to all our young super stars who celebrated their First Holy Communion last week ; a special day for an amazing group of young people. We wish them every blessing.
