U15 Boys

The U15 boys had a great start to 2021 with a win in a challenge match versus Lilliput Gaels. Thanks to Lilliput Gaels for hosting us in Ballinagore on Wednesday 16th. Good team performances from Sam Molloy, James Sugrue, Eoin Conlon and Rory McDonald.

 

U12 Boys

Last Thursday evening saw the U12 boys play the final of the 2020 Garycastle Tournament. The opposition was a well organised and equally committed Kinnegad/Coralstown side resulting in both teams serving up a cracking game of football. End to end football with every skill on display both teams were made to work hard for their scores. The power of the Kinnegad players could have been a potentially daunting task for Shandonagh but this did not faze the young Shan men in the slightest. A never say die attitude along with a huge work ethic supporting each other resulted in them piping Kinnegad/Coralstown by a single score in the end. Credit has to go to both teams for a fantastic game of football showing Westmeath underage can compete with anyone. Well done to the Shandonagh U12 men again and we look forward to their matches for 2021 as they progress to U13 competition. A big thanks to Garycastle GAA for organising this tournament and looking after all players so well during the final.

 

U11 Boys

Last Tuesday evening the U11 boys travelled to play St Marys Rochfortbridge in the first of the 2021 Go Games. Two teams were in action on a windy but warm evening and from the sweat and panting coming from all players they played like they were in an All-Ireland. Thanks to St. Marys for hosting us and a very enjoyable evening was had by all in the true spirit of the Go Games.
