Southern Gaels 4-16 Clonkill 2-5
Southern Gaels enjoyed a comprehensive win over Clonkill in the 2020 Under 15 Division Two hurling semi-final in Pairc Chiaráin last Friday. Playing with the aid of a light breeze they made the best of the advantage and were 2-4 in front before Clonkill raised a white flag. Johnny Martin Dean Burns and Luke Whelan were the most threatening in the forward division. Clonkill with gaols either side of half time made a gallant effort to get back into the game. However, a penalty save by Conn O'Hara thwarted their efforts. Steady defending from Tadgh Baker, Jonas Kristers and Luke O'Connell proved the launching pad for many of Gael's attacks and they finished with a brace of goals to book a place in the final against Raharney next Saturday.
Having already captured county titles at Under 13 and Under 17 in 2020 the Athlone side are hopeful of adding a third to the trophy cabinet.
