Garrycastle  GAA Notes Oct 18th

Pitch Development

It was a busy week on the pitch, but not with football. A major drainage job is being carried  out and the fine weather facilitated huge progress during the week. The majority of the work involving the use of machinery was completed while the weather was good. The benefits of this necessary  work will be seen during next year when  hopefully all will be back playing football. The pitch remains fully closed.

Wins for Westmeath

It was a great weekend for Westmeath last weekend. Helped by Garrycastle players James Dolan and Alex Gardiner Westmeath  senior footballers had an easy win over Laois taking them to third place in division 2 and in contention for promotion with one round to go. Westmeath minor hurlers had a great win in their Leinster championship tie against Carlow with Garrycastle  player Cian McCarthy on the team. In addition the Westmeath  senior camogie team had a great win over Limerick in the senior championship. Well done to all.

Well  Done

Well done also to  James Sheeran  who represented his native Wicklow last weekend in their National football league win over Antrim.
