Westmeath star John Heslin has questioned the wisdom of resuming the inter-county season this weekend under the current circumstances.
Yesterday saw a record 1,095 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Ireland and from midnight tonight counties Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan will moved into Level 4 of the government's 'Living with Covid' restriction plan.
Heslin took to Twitter yesterday evening to voice his concerns “from a health and welfare perspective”.
"At what stage does the "Inter-county return badly needed in these grim days" commentary end?" the St Loman’s clubman asked.
"I am concerned from a health and welfare perspective, both individually and collectively, for those contributing to the inter-county season."
