Haresden Harps club notes

June 21, 2021

Upcoming fixture:

Harlesden Harps look for further silverware as we play the final of the Shiel Cup this coming weekend. No details available at the time of writing but once announced as usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.

Keep an eye on https://twitter.com/harlesdenharps during the week for any changes to the match details.

Previous matches:

A couple of games to report on as on Tuesday evening we came up just short AET against St Joe’s in the Intermediate Cup. Still a good marker of the closeness between both teams ahead of the upcoming Intermediate Championship.

Then on Saturday afternoon another cup competition, the Shiel Cup, as we battled with Cú Chulainns. Although we were missing a few of our more established players, those that togged out did not lack for effort and the players showed great heart, skill and determination to get a comfortable 1-12 to 0-07 victory. Ryan McSherry showed he’s still wearing his scoring boots bagging 1-06 with notable scores also from Aaron Foley and ‘veteran-of-veterans’ Gerry Rowley showing class is permanent with a fine point.

Training:

Training continues every week taking place on Monday and Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). A physio will be there on Tuesdays for any niggles you may have. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.
