As Kilkenny prepare for their 20th All-Ireland SHC semi-final under the management of Brian Cody, they have the enviable record of only losing two of the previous 19 last four ties.

Since taking over as Kilkenny manager in 1999, Brian Cody’s side have won 16, drawn one and lost two of the previous 19 All-Ireland semi-finals.

Their only defeats came against Galway in 2001 and 2005.

Waterford are Kilkenny’s opponents on Saturday and Cody’s record against the Deise is just as impressive as his semi-final one.

This will be the tenth time Cody has led Kilkenny against Waterford in the championship, winning seven, drawing one and losing just one – an All-Ireland qualifier in 2017.
