Adrian Moran has dismissed speculation that he is in the running to become the next Westmeath hurling manager.
The Lake County are in the market for a new manager following Joe Quaid's shock dismissal last month and it was reported this week that five candidates are being interviewed. However, Moran - who led Westmeath to a sensational Leinster U21HC victory over an Eddie Brennan-managed Kilkenny in 2016 - has confirmed to hoganstand.com that he is not one of them.
With outgoing selector Johnny Greville - who has guided the Westmeath camogie team to the All-Ireland intermediate final - also ruling himself out, Dubliner and outgoing coach Shane O'Brien is thought to be the frontrunner.
