Tyrone are facing an anxious wait over key forward Darragh Canavan to discover if the ankle injury he picked up on Saturday evening will keep him out of this year's championship.

The Errigal Ciaran clubman was stretchered off 10 minutes into yesterday's 6-15 to 1-14 Allianz Football League Division 1 sem-final defeat to Kerry at Fitzgerald Stadium where he left on crutches and in a protective boot. Canavan is due to undergo a scan and the extent of the injury should be known in the coming days.

"It definitely is a big worry. Darragh is one of our key players," Tyrone joint-manager Brian Dooher said at full-time.

"Hopefully, we’ll see what the outcome is and what the diagnosis is, and whatever treament he’ll need to get."
