Ederney's Finbar Gillen returned from a broken jaw sustained four weeks ago to help his side to a first Fermanagh SFC final title in 52 years.
The centre back had to undergo surgery following a "sickening" off-the-ball incident during the quarter-final against Belnaleck on 28 August. It meant Gillen would sit out the semi-final win over Teemore two weeks later but he was determined his injury wouldn’t force him to miss Ederney's big day.
Finbar underwent surgery yesterday for a broken jaw sustained on Friday evenings championship match following a sickening off the ball incident. Everyone is disappointed Finbar suffered such a serious injury and how it was received.

Finbar played the full match as the Marty McGrath-inspired Ederney dethroned six-in-a-row chasing Derrygonnelly to take home the New York Cup which he proudly brought on a visit to see his grandmother Rosleen and great uncle Christy.
