Former Kerry underage player David Shanahan has accepted a full scholarship offer to play American Football and study at Georgia Tech in 2021.
The Castleisland Desmonds clubman will line out for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as a college football punter after impressing coaches at Prokick, an Australian academy aimed at transitioning Australian athletes into American football place kickers.
19-year-old Shanahan was a member of the Kingdom's 2017 Munster U17 winning squad which also included the AFL-bound Deividas Uosis.
