Meath legend writing a book about another Meath legend!

August 18, 2019

Meath's Martin O'Connell celebrates after the 1996 All Ireland final win over Mayo.

Meath football fans will be delighted to hear that Millennium Man Martin O'Connell is bringing out an autobiography.

And it's been ghost-written by his former team-mate and fellow All-Ireland winner Liam Hayes along with David Sheehan of LMFM Radio.

St Michael's clubman O'Connell was an outstanding servant to the Royals from 1984 to '97, during which he won three All-Ireland medals, four All Stars and was named the Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1996 after Meath's All-Ireland final replay victory over Mayo. Shortly after his inter-county career ended, he was named at left half back on the GAA Football Team of the Millennium.

'Royal Blood - The Making of a Football Legend' is due to release in mid-October.
