Pride of place goes to our girls under-16 footballers who won the Division 1 Shield title on Friday evening, beating St Molaise Gaels on a final scoreline of 5-12 to 3-2. Well done to all the players and the management team led by Tom O'Boyle.
Our girls under-14 team play Coolera/Strandhill in their league shield semi-final this Wednesday evening (July 28th) in Ransboro at 6:30pm.
Sunday was a special day for DRPs Maeve Casserly. She played her first senior intercounty match for Sligo, alongside clubmates Michelle McNamara and Sinead Regan, in their 4-10 to 1-11 win against Longford in their concluding All-Ireland intermediate football championship game for this year.
Well done to the trio.
There were eight Benbulben Gaels hurlers involved with the Sligo in the U17 Celtic Challenge final against Antrim in Dungiven on Saturday. While the ended in defeat, this is a highly promising group of young hurlers. Well done to the Gaels contingent:

A special mention too for Shane, Patrick and Marc who were part of the Sligo county under 15 hurling panel who were in Connacht blitz action at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence last Saturday.
Our minor hurlers play Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon at Oxfield this Thursday evening in the Tain Og league at 7.30pm.
Best of luck to Ross Chambers, James Donlon and the Sligo minor gaelic footballers who take on Leitrim this Friday evening in the Connacht minor football semi-final at Markievicz Park (7pm). The game is being streamed live by Connacht GAA - and our own Niall Canning will also be on radio commentary duty for Ocean FM.
Our boys minor footballers were among 11 clubs taking part in an U17 blitz last Thursday evening in Scarden. The club minor championship is currently on hold while the county team prepare for their Connacht Championship game.

The senior men's footballers have a Division 2 relegation play-off against Castleconnor next Sunday in Oxfield (Aug 1st) at 1pm.
Our junior men's footballers drew 2-14 to 3-11 with Eastern Harps in Division 4 at Oxfield on Saturday evening. The previous week, they enjoyed a 2-14 to 2-9 success away to Coolaney/Mullnabreena.
Hard luck to the DRP hurlers who put up a spirited performance before losing out to Tourlestrane at Oxfield last Monday evening on a final scoreline of 5-8 to 4-4.
Our boys U13 football teams played two good competitive games against Eastern Harps in Keash last Friday evening. Our 2008 team lost our narrowly by a single point - while our 2009 team showed good determination with a strong last quarter before losing out by five scores (8-10 to 3-10).
