Former Offaly footballer and manager Kevin Kilmurray has passed away at 72.

The Daingean clubman was one of Offaly's greatest ever footballers and a key component in the All-Ireland SFC winning teams of 1971 and 1972.

During his playing days, Kevin also won six Leinster titles, picked up two All-Star awards and won the Dublin senior football championship four times.

He managed Offaly for two seasons in 2005 and 2006, with the latter year being the last time the Faithful men reached the Leinster SFC final.
