Offaly Camogie League

Our girls played St Cillians in the League on Friday evening knowing it was a game they had to win if they were to progress further in this year's League.  The game was nip and tuck all the way through with the teams trading points until the first goal of the game came after 16th minute when the visitors raised a green flag.  The Kinnitty team didn't panic and the teams continued to battle hard with each score being well earned.  Kinnitty finished the half well hitting three points without reply to trail by the minimum at half time with the score reading 0-7 to 1-5 with all of Kinnitty's points coming from Patrice Delaney.

St Cillians got the perfect start to the second half when a high ball in was batted out by Trish Corrigan in the Kinnitty goals but the ball was swiftly finished to the net by St Cillians.  Credit to the Kinnitty girls as they responded well, firstly with a point from Mary McCartain which came from some excellent built up play from her team.  It was quickly followed by points from Rachel Scully and Leanne Mahon.  St Cillians replied with a brace of points of their own before a serious hand injury to Patrice Delaney resulted in her leaving the field and the Kinnitty challenge became even greater as a result.  They responded well however but were unable to reel in the deficit and only minutes later a third St Cillians goal left the result in no doubt with the final score reading, Kinnitty 0-13, St Cillians 3-10
