Lusmagh Drumcullens Clodagh Leahy with St Cillians Caoimhe Ginty in Saturday's Minor B Final

Results

Our under 18 team had a great win in the B semi-final against Shinrone on Friday evening under lights in Shannonbridge. The game ending on a scoreline of Lusmagh/Drumcullen 5-17 to Shinrone 1-5.

This win led us to the Under 18B final which was played on Sunday morning in Tullamore. A cold crisp morning lead way for perfect conditions for this late stage of the year. A goal as the first score of the game, from Clodagh Leahy in the first 5 minutes was the set up we needed. This was followed by a St Cillians point but then 3 unanswered points from Lusmagh/Drumcullen before the water break. St Cillians came out with the first point after the break followed by a point from Fianait Dooley as she had barely entered the pitch as a substitution. 3 more unanswered points before St Cillians popped over a point. Lusmagh/Drumcullen answered back with a point before St Cillians found the back of the Lusmagh/Drumcullen net just before the half time whistle. Leaving the half time score Lusmagh/Drumcullen 1-8 to St Cillians 1-3.

Lusmagh/Drumcullen got out of the traps first with a point, followed by a St Cillians point to be the only 2 scores before the second water break. With only 5 points between the teams it was all to play for.

Lusmagh/Drumcullen starting out with 2 points before St Cillians answered back with a point. This followed with a scoring spree by Lusmagh/Drumcullen of a goal by Fianait Dooley, then a point, followed by another goal from Jenny Bracken. The game ending with a final point from St Cillians leaving a final score of Lusmagh/Drumcullen 3-12 to St Cillians 1-6.

Congratulations to Creagh Lyons on an outstanding game and a well deserved player of the game.

Hard luck to St Cillians. Massive congratulations to the Lusmagh/Drumcullen panel and management on a fine display of camogie all over the field.
