Ballycumber GAA Club notes

October 20, 2020

Ballycumber GAA Club.

GAA National Club Draw 2021 tickets at 10 euro are now on sale. There are great prizes on offer and with all funds raised staying with the Club we ask all members to support this draw. The Club are planning to remove a large section of the Leylandii trees at the Railway Station end of the pitch and construct a Bio Diversity area, including a wild flower garden, fruit trees and native trees. There are also plans to carry out repairs to the Walking Track. The costs involved in carrying out this work will have to be met from Club funds before any funding can be accessed.

Lotto.

Because of Covid 19 restrictions the sale of lotto tickets has reduced and again we ask all members to buy lotto tickets every week. Tickets are on sale in Gussies, from usual lotto sellers and on line at https://www.locallotto.ie/localhome.asp?LL_ID=415

Lotto results.

The numbers drawn were 10,20,23,31 No jackpot winner, one match three winner.

Next week’s draw will be held in Gussies on Monday evening for a jackpot of 4150 euros.

History.

Ballycumber History Group are collecting historical facts about the Boher and Castlearmstrong areas. The group would welcome any information and photographs of Boher Church and Schools, Boher Hall, Guinan’s Field, Castlearmstrong and Castletown Park.

There must be some good stories about dances in Boher Hall.

Offaly.

Well done to Offaly minor hurlers who had a very convincing victory against a highly rated Laois team on Saturday. It was great to see Offaly senior footballers back out on the pitch in Thurles after the long layoff. The result didn’t go their way but the effort put in by all players was praiseworthy.
