JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RD 5

The 2020 playing campaign for Raheen GAA Club came to an end last Sunday morning as the Junior Footballers lost out to Ballyfore in Rd 5 of the Junior B Championship on a scoreline of 0-14 to 2-04. Raheen need to win this game and hope for a win for Tullamore against Ferbane in the other group game in order for Raheen to qualify for the Semi Finals  The game played in absoulte dreadfull weather was nip and tuck for the first half with Ballyfore just shading it the break 0-05 to 0-04. Ballyfore were first off the mark with the opening point in the second half to double their advantage before Raheen struck for their first goal on 2 mins superbly finished by Stephen Pierce to put Raheen in front for the first and what would be the only time. Ballyfore picked it up from there scoring 5 points in a row  before Raheen grabbed their second goal on 22 mins dispatched by Mark Gorman to maintain his streak of having scored at least 1 goal in all 5 rounds of the Championship. Ballyfore then wrapped it up with the final 3 points. As it turned out the result mattered little  with Ferbane beating Tullamore to ensure that Ferbane join Tullamore as the Group 1 representatives in the Semi Final.

Congratulations to Na Fianna Minor & U13 Hurling Teams who were victorious in winning the Minor B & U13 A Shield Finals last weekend beating Ferbane / Belmont and Tullamore respectively.
