Seniors: Preparations are ongoing for Round 1 of the Intermediate League which commences on Sunday week away to Eire Og at 3pm. This year the league format is split into 2 groups with Aughnamullen placed against Eire Og, Corduff, Tyholland & Killanny with top 3 teams in each group reaching the knockout stages of the league format so everything to play for.

Reserves: The Reserves commenced their league campaign on Wednesday last when they had a good victory over Killanny on a score line of 4-13 to 1-13. This game was very close until the final quarter when a couple of quick fire goals proving the difference in the end. In the first half Killanny were in the ascendancy for most of the half and it kept goals by Jason Duffy and Ryan Connolly to keep the home side in the game and at half time Killanny led by 1 on a score line of 1-7 to 2-3. In the second half scores were traded equally with some great scores by the evergreen veterans Eddie Mc Ardle and Chris Keenan and entering the second water break it was 2-10 to 1-12. In the final quarter 2 goals by debutant Conor Boyle proved the difference and Aughnamullen ran out winners.

On Saturday evening last however the team were defeated in Round 2 of the league with a 4 point defeat to Monaghan Harps on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-11. On the night the Harps potency in front of goal proving the difference. In the first half both teams started well but the harps went into the ascendancy entering the final 10 minutes of the half and led by 1-9 to 0-5 at the break. In the second half both teams missed a number of opportunities and although Aughnamullen tried hard the Harps held on to their victory. Next game is on next Monday night the 21st June at home to Ballybay at 8pm.

Under 17: The U17 team recorded their first victory in the league campaign with a hard earned victory over Scotstown on Tuesday last winning by just 2 points on a score line of 5-4 to 2-11. This was a game which could have went either way however a stong finish by Aughnamullen proving the difference. In the first half Aughnamullen playing against the elements went into a 5 point lead but gradually Scotstown came into the game and at half time it was level at 1-3 to 0-6. Another early goal put Aughnamullen up by 3 but the home side came flying back and scored 2-3 without reply to go up 6 at the second water break. However a strong finish which yielded 3 goals in the final 10 minutes proved the difference in the end. Next game for this team is not for a few weeks.

Under 15: The U15 Div 3 team started their league campaign away to Aghabog on Thursday last and Aughnamullen came away with a 12 point victory however it must be said Aghabog were a tough team to defeat and at half time were only 2 points in arrears. In the start of the second half Aughnamullen got a couple of early scores which proved the difference in the end. Next game is on Thursday night(tonight) at home to Sean Mc Dermotts at 7.30pm.

On Friday evening our Division 5 squad started their league campaign with a good victory over Inniskeen. This was a very entertaining game throughout with some fine scores throughout and as they say goals win games and this game definitely had this. On another note the club would like to welcome new player Ned Beavis to the U15 panel.
