Reserves: The senior reserve team hosted Castleblayney at St Victor's Park in the opener of the Reserve Football League Division 3 Group 2 on Wednesday 16th June at 8:00pm. Details in next week's notes. We wish the lads, management and their families all the very best for the season ahead. Next up they face Scotstown in an away fixture this Sunday 20th June at 3:00pm.
Senior Team: Our senior team start their campaign in the league on Sunday 27th June where they will host Killeevan at St victor's Park with throw in at 3:00pm. We would like to wish our senior panel, management and their families all the very best for the season ahead.
U17s: The minor panel were out again on Monday night last 14th June with a visit to Truagh in what was hoped to be a bounce back for the lads, having suffered a big blow in the opener the previous week against St Pats. With just the bare minimum and no subs available the lads faced a well fielded Gaeil Triucha side. Unfortunately, this was again a one-sided contest with Truagh controlling the game from all areas of the field. The lads were not allowed into this game whatsoever and it was a disappointing night for all the players, however they have yet to find their feet, and this is a tough division with nowhere to hide. Once the lads play as a team and the full panel is available, we are sure to see a better outcome as this team does have plenty of talent. There is a break in the play now and hopefully the lads can work away in training to improve and get their rhythm, plus we hope all injured players will then be fit to return. Training continues with the minors in Corduff and Toome. We ask all parents to ensure they complete the Return to Play questionnaire prior to each session and match.
Toome U7 Blitz: What a morning was had on Saturday last with the U7s Blitz, it was a wonderful site to see so many children returning to the field of play. The Club was well and truly represented with a great turn out, all the children, parents and the coaches had a great morning. This was hosted by Ballybay Pearse and we would like to thank them for this well organised Blitz and their hospitality. The U7s have no Blitz this Saturday, their next Blitz will be held on Saturday 26th June in Doohamlet, can all players be there for 9:45am. Thanks to all the coaches who make this possible and give their time so generously.
U9 Blitz: This week is the turn of the U9s who will be hosted by Drumhowan on Saturday 19th June, we hope everyone has a great day. All players to be there for 9:45am, remember to bring a drink of water and a gum shield. Then we travel to Blackhill on 3rd of July.
Juvenile Training: Training for our young juniors continues each Tuesday evening at 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Please let friends and neighbours know as new members are always more than welcome. All the children have great fun, and it is a joy to see the children playing and laughing, and we wish to express huge thanks to all the coaches and volunteers who are working with these youngest members of the Club. Thank you to all the parents for bringing the children and adhering to all COVID restrictions and guidelines in place, along with the completion of the Return to Play Forms.
U15s: The U15s travelled to Latton on Thursday last 10th June, this is a young side, and they faced a stronger more experienced Latton team. The lads gave a good account of themselves and only for a few errors that they can work on in training over the coming weeks, they came off second best to the deserved winners on the evening. Latton 5:13 - Corduff 3:12. Next up is a home fixture (Corduff) this Thursday 17th June at 7:30pm for Round 2 of the league, where the lads will take on Clones, this promises to be an exciting encounter. The lads then travel to Inniskeen the following week for Round 3 with throw in at 7:30pm. Training continues in Corduff on Tuesday and Sunday. We ask all parents to ensure they complete the Return to Play questionnaire prior to each session and match.
