BC Memorial Blitz We held our 16th Annual BC Blitz last Saturday 21st September and with 29 teams taking part it again proved again to be a very successful and well supported tournament. After the group stages 16 teams played in the Cup competition with Kildress & Magheracloone making it through to the cup final with Kildress running out eventual winners. 13 teams played in the Shield competition and it ended up an all Tyrone final with Omagh & Aghaloo making it through to the final and Omagh taking the honours on this occasion. The winner of the skills competition was Magheracloone. A huge words of thanks must be extended to everyone how helped out at this tournament be it sponsorship, car parking, pitch co-ordinating, recording match scores, electrical work, referring, supplying goal posts, Red Cross, supplying serving & cooking food, lotto sellers, shop assistants, because without all your help this event would not be possible. Also a big thank you to Peadar McMahon from Emyvale.net for his coverage of this event. A special word of thanks must go to the Colton Family who turn up in strength every year and there enthusiasm is reflected in the success of the tournament. Finally the tireless work behind the scenes by Aine Sheehan, our Juvenile Secretary Geraldine Keenan & Siobhan McCluskey was fundamental in the efficient running of this event and their hard work is very much appreciated.
U9’s: training will change to Tuesday and Thursday 6:45pm to 7:45pm for the next two weeks.
U11’s: We entered 2 teams in the 16th annual Bc memorial blitz last Saturday. With 6 U9’s brought up to the Emyvale Og team it was a brave effort, especially in the round of 16 in the shield competition where they put up a stern fight losing out on a tight scoreline to st. Kevin’s. Our Older team also showed plenty of heart qualifying for the quarter finals, although getting beaten by cup finalists Magheracloone. A great effort by both teams and everyone can hold their heads high. Training Monday and Thursdays.
U13’s training is on Thursday evenings only for the next couple of weeks. Follow your WhatsApp group for possible details of any further events.
