As you well know the GAA National League is tiered into 4. Meath were in the second of those tiers. Each year the competition is run with a series of league games with a final that determines who is declared the winners or top of the division or tier. On this occasion Donegal won out.
The key question was "Who topped the second tier?" Not "Who topped the league stage of the second tier before the final took place?" In case you forgot this is direct from the GAA website. https://www.gaa.ie/football/news/allianz-fl-d2-final-donegal-finish-strongly/
So, according to the GAA's own website the team that finished top of the second tier is Donegal. Had the reverse happened I am sure a certain person would be reminding us all about it from the rooftops :)"
We topped all that mattered. As I said before game I couldn't give a rats ass about it and actually suggested that all the players who started during league should have been rested. No one gave a flying f### about the league final. Not even me. It was meaningless and pointless, I don't like soccer but you don't see either man city and Liverpool playing off to see who wins it do you?? We have a league format and a championship, there should be no league (super 8s ) in championship and there certainly should be no knock out game in a league. We won the part that matters. And if Meath had won the final by 29 points. I'd still say exact same thing. Cop on.

I was just pointing out facts man. I wasn't commenting either way on the merits of the system.
No need for the "cop on" comment at the end or the sarky comments last evening.We all support the one team.
