Club Championship Draw

Any word on when the draw is been made ? Cant remember it been this late before, I presume it must be soon leaving only a month to prepare for the first round, i am sure all clubs would like to know a bit sooner who is in their group and maybe do a bit of analysis on their opponents during the early stages of the league. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 1047 - 25/02/2019 19:46:10 2168131 Link

Still Cant get my head around how Trim will be in group B for the Hurling after reaching the final last year. They probably dont care as it benifited them last year but just think a small rule change that if a Team from B reach's the final they should be promoted and an extra team from A should be demoted. Its a little flaw ok but id say the teams in the 2nd tier will be more unhappy than Trim. It suited Trim last year and allowed them to build nicely. I can't imagine they will be unhappy as it will allow them blood some more young lads and who knows where it could take them or not. Looking forward to the draws albeit we know that it's a round robin but once the rounds are finalised the championship chat and prep will begin which means summer hurling is not far away. Don't agree, your proposal is a bit 'this and that' better if rule was changed so that two from B went up and two from A went down, then everyone would know where they from the start. Would mean that the groups were mixed up a bit more and the A group would be in the melting pot to the very last second in that one minute you could have one foot in the quarter final (maybe even a semifinal) and the next minute you could be in group B next year. Senior Championship all the more interesting this year what with the reduction to 16 teams - 3 teams to go down!! That will make the draw even more important than before! Some interesting games going to come out of the senior championship groups - at first glance group c looks the toughest! But there are no easy groups - assume it is the same as last year - top 3 teams from group a straight through then top 2 in b and c join them. 3rd in b and c play off for last 1/4 final spot??? I'll go against the bookies on it and suggest NOM will top it with Gaeil Colmcilles and Skryne taking the other two spots - St Pat's to finish last Group B - 3 of the bookies top 5 in this group and last years finalists and semi finalists. Despite the bookies odds I am going with an upset in this group - I think Moynalvey could cause an upset here although maybe only in getting a playoff spot. - Longwood to finish bottom. Group C - Looks like the toughest group - I am going to go with Dunboyne to win the group - Colmcilles to cause an upset and come second and Tones to get the play off spot! Seneschalstown v Navan O'Mahonys, Skryne v St Patrick's, Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin. Group B - Moynalvey v Rathkenny, Longwood v Ratoath, Donaghmore/Ashbourne v Summerhill. Group C - Dunboyne v Curraha, Na Fianna v St Colmcille's, Simonstown Gaels v Wolfe Tones. Love the club championship, cant wait for the re-start. 3 even enough groups. in particular order Group A- NOM,Kells and skyrne to go through but wouldnt be shocked if Dunshauglin/seneschalstown sneak through. Group B - ratoath, Don/Ash and summerhill - most straight forward group. Group C - Dunboyne, Simonstown and Wolfe Tones - It could be tight between tones and cilles here though. 3rd place teams in B&C play off so i would imagine group Bs 3rd will progress. Bit of a joke that it will be the same price as an inter county league game. Definitely will turn a lot of neutrals off. Were the gate receipts up or down last year does anyone remember?
