Kill were on the scoreboard first with a Joshua Kelly point before the eventual winners took control. A Jack Smyth long distance free found its way to the Kill net for goal number one and amazingly the Castletown vice captain repeated the same trick for the next two scores to put his side 3-0 to 0-1 in front. Evan McMahon pointed and Bernard McKeown finished the half with a goal to put Castletown in a commanding position, 4-1 to 0-1, at the break.

Freddie Kearns raised their fifth green flag of the day early in the second half but to their credit Kill never gave up. Points from Jonas Dempsey and Tadgh Fagan (2) along with a Jim Hayes goal put a better completion on the scoreboard as Castletown went on to record a ten point victory.
