Navan O'Mahony's Richie Cean beats Padraig Finnerty (Skryne) to the ball during the 1989 Meath SFC final at Pairc Tailteann

Sad to report the passing of former O'Mahonys great Richie Crean.

The Navan club paid tribute on their Facebook page.

We were saddened to learn of the death of Richie Crean.

Richie was a fine footballer who won four SFC in a row in the 1980s.

Remaining great friends with his team mates when he moved on from Navan, Richie continued to support Navan O'Mahony's and took part in our annual golf classic.

He also played in October 2019, before his illness, in the Ben Tansey Memorial Golf Tournament with St Aidans GAA Club and Four Roads Hurling Club.
