Race for provincial glory heats up

Wolfe Tones take on Dublin champions Kilmacud Crokes at Pairc Tailteann

It’s another big weekend on the provincial club front with five Meath teams looking to progress.

After their win over Dunboyne in the SFC final Wolfe Tones enter the Leinster Club at the quarter final stage. It’s another game that Michael McDermott’s charges will enter as underdogs but Kilmacud Crokes were far from their best in their county final win over St. Judes.

Fresh from their dramatic semi-final win over Tinahely of Wicklow, Dunboyne ladies take on all-conquering Foxrock-Cabinteely side, who have won the last five Leinster senior titles, at Kinnegad.

Trim head back to the scene of their impressive opening round win over St. Fechins for a Leinster IFC meeting with Kilkenny SFC winners Thomastown.

Jubilee Cup winners Kildalkey travel to Tullamore to take on Offaly’s Clodiagh Gaels. Managed by Birr’s Paul Murphy and inspired by the Langton brothers the Killeigh/Killurin combination defeated Tullamore in the county Senior B final.

Boardsmill will be hoping to carry their county final heroics to Dunganny on Saturday when they entertain another Offaly club Shamrocks in the Junior quarter final. The Rahan parish outfit lost the county IHC final to Birr’s second string.
