Navan O’Mahony’s 2-13 Summerhill 1-09
It was Summerhill who got the better of the early exchanges for this hard-fought encounter played in good conditions on Saturday morning in Grangegodden. With Summerhill scoring a goal with their first attack and tagging on some well-taken points, O’Mahony’s struggled to put scores on the board the other end.
The determination and resilience shown by the Navan men to overcome Skryne in the semi final was once again shining through, though not on the scoreboard.
Summerhill were able to keep their lead right until the final quarter, where they went in 5 points up after many squandered opportunities for the Hoops.
Things eventually started to click for Navan O’Mahony’s up front when Delight Benson managed to raise the green flag, followed shortly afterwards by a Daniel Joseph goal. Some well taken points by the industrious Adam McEvoy helped aid O’Mahony’s to a well deserved win
