Our photo shows Brigid Carney celebrating with Aoife Maguire. Killyon are just after winning the 2004 Meath senior camogie title, their first crown in eight years.

Kilmessan were bidding for a four in a row. Carol Massey’s goal four minutes from full time proved decisive as the team in Red and Green clinched their ninth county senior title on a 2-4 to 0-9 scoreline.

Brigid has held every administration post at club and county level and needs no introduction to Meath camogie followers. The staunch Killyon club member had the honour of presenting the cup to Katie Connolly at Pairc Tailteann. Brigid’s husband JJ was one of the team mentors.

Aoife Maguire has given outstanding service to club and county. Aoife captained Meath to the Division 2 camogie league title in 2016 and was voted Player of the Match in last year's Meath Intermediate camogie championship final. Aoife announced her retirement from the inter county scene earlier this year.

The Killyon team on duty that day was: Michelle Connolly; Samantha McMahon, Mary Burke, Jackie Maher; Aoife Maguire, Margaret Burke, Denise Fitzsimons; Katie Connolly (0-1), Fionnuala Clarke; Carol Massey (1-0), Stephanie Heavey (0-3, all frees), Orla Ennis; Yvonne Holzner, Sharon Raleigh, Christine Raleigh.
