The Moynalvey-Kilcloon-Batterstown combination caused a big surprise in 1991 when winning the Meath minor football championship.
That success was spearheaded by team captain Cathal Sheridan, the only Meath man to have won All Ireland medals at Minor, Under 21, Junior and Senior level.
Sheridan was part of the all conquering Meath team that claimed All Ireland minor success the previous year and was in sparkling form for the combination side that upset the odds to claim the Delaney Cup.
Moynlvey-Kilcloon-Batterstown showed real fighting spirit in their quarter final meeting with Simonstown Gaels. They trailed by five points with five minutes remaining. In an exciting finale Cathal Sheridan set up substitute Paddy Tyrell for a great goal and although Simonstown replied with a point corner forward Michael McCarthy fisted two points to leave the minimum between the sides with time ticking away but Sheridan gained possession from a kick out, was fouled, and pointed the free to tie up the game Moynalvey Kilcloon 3-8 Simonstown 1-14.

In the replay also in Dunshaughlin a Paul Nestor goal gave the team in maroon an advantage and unlike the drawn encounter went on to win at ease 2-11 to 0-6. Nigel Nestor, Donoghue, Barry Sheridan, Darragh Canning, Michael Collins, Cathal Sheridan, Darragh Smyth and Michael McCarthy all impressed.
The semi final produced eight goals. With ten minutes remaining Oldcastle led 4-2 to 3-4. A fine move involving Cathal Sheridan, Nigel Nestor and Jimmy McGovern set up Paul Nestor for a goal. This broke the Oldcastle resolve and further points from McCarthy and Sheridan gave Moynalvey Kilcloon a 4-8 to 4-2 win.
Seneschalstown Duleek provided the final day opposition. Sheridan was inspirational. The 1990 All Ireland medal winner scored 1-5, the goal coming after only five minutes and his accuracy from placed balls was a principal factor in his sides 1-6 to 0-2 interval lead. Moynalvey-Kilcloon dominated the second half and when Michael Collins fisted home their second goal with five minutes remaining the title was heading to the South Meath combination.
