Former Shelbourne and Dundalk goalkeeper Steve Williams is set to join Mickey Harte’s backroom team in Louth for the 2021 season.

Dundalk FC confirmed earlier today that the Welshman has departed his role as the club’s goalkeeping coach having held the position for the past seven years.

LMFM reports that the 46-year-old is now set to link up with the Louth senior footballers as their new goalkeeping coach under Harte.

Harte became Wee County manager a month ago today after parting ways with Tyrone following 18 years of service with the Red Hands.

During his playing career, Williams featured for Coventry City and Cardiff City before winning five Premier Division titles with Shelbourne between 2000 and 2006 and being a key figure in the Dublin club’s 2004 Champions League run.
