U21 West Final

Shannon Gaels 3-11

St. Senan's 1-5

Athea was the venue for this year's West A final last Saturday. We set the tone early with some strong tackles and had the better of the exchanges. Sheagh O’Connor set us on our way with the opening goal. This was added to with some fine points from Brendan Flanagan and Stephen Martin. Senan's came back into it towards the latter stages of the first half but thankfully our defense held strong and we were 5 points up at halftime. In the second half, Karl O’Sullivan had a great impact scoring two goals when coming of the bench. We ran out comfortable winners. Man of the match was Ronan Culhane, who had a fine game in midfield and there were good performances also from Jamie Fitzgerald, Paul O’Donnell, Seán Horan, Maurice Moore, Cian Culhane, Sheagh O’Connor, Stephen Martin and Jack Sheehan. Special thanks is due to the team's sponsors, Conor Henderson, Jerry Costello Servicing and Dunne’s Bar. Next up will be the winners of Kildimo-Pallaskenry and St. Pat's in the City final.
