Gortletteragh club notes

August 25, 2021

Sympathy:

We extend our sincere sympathy to Kevin Masterson and the Masterson and Guilfoyle families on the passing of Kevin’s sister Rose Mary Guilfoyle (Rosaleen) last weekend. Ar dheis Dé go raibh an anam.

New Arrival:

Congratulations to Mark Duignan and his wife Sarah on the birth of their son Jack, the start of another generation of Duignan footballers for the club and if we’re lucky, another all-rounder for the club like his dad Mark who has given many years to the club in various roles, from player to club secretary and currently senior club vice-chairman and underage coach.

2021 Connacht Gold Senior Championship:

The journey was made to the north of the county last Saturday evening to meet Glencar-Manor in our second game the senior championship. We had a chase on our hands from early in the first half as Glencar-Manor managed to clock up scores with greater ease that we would have hoped, while we struggled to find the uprights. Luck wasn’t on our side either as we had a few missed goal chances including a penalty before half time. Our game picked up in the second half, however despite another good battling performance by the lads, it wasn’t enough to overcome the strength of Glencar-Manor. Final score 1-14 to 1-06. Next weekend we take on Leitrim Gaels at home on Saturday 28th Aug at 7pm.

U13’s – Div 2:

Rinn Gaels U13’s Div 2 play St Patricks Dromahair on Thursday 26th August at 7pm in Bornacoola.

U17’s:

Gortletteragh U17’s play Allen Gaels in Drumshambo on Monday 30th August at 7pm.
