Fenagh St Caillin's notes

December 22, 2020

Christmas 2020 - as we reach the end of an extraordinary year we take this opportunity to wish all our Club members, their families and the wider community a peaceful and happy Christmas. It won't be the one everybody had hoped for but we look forward to better times ahead in 2021. Thank you to all those who contributed to the running of our Club during the year. To the members of our various committees, our coaches, our supporters, our many sponsors and of course our players from the youngest to the young at heart we thank you most sincerely for your time, effort and support during a challenging year. Thank you to the Leitrim County Board and the volunteers therein who strived under trying circumstances to make sure there was some meaningful games for us to participate in at every level and even broadcast them into our homes. Finally thank you to John Connolly and staff at the Leitrim Observer for coverage of our games and activities throughout the year.

Club Lotto - as you know we have had to put a hold on our fortnightly lotto draws during the current pandemic due to circumstances beyond our control. We will however be holding our annual Christmas draw for our 100+ loyal annual lotto ticket holders over the course of the Christmas break with some cash and spot prizes to be won. Winners will be published here.

AGM - Fenagh St Caillin's agm took place virtually on December 12th last. Secretary Adrian Redican compiled a comprehensive report covering his first year in the role and all activities which took place during it. Chairperson Marie McGovern addressed those present and thanked everyone for their tireless work throughout an unprecedented year. Treasurer Jimmy Gilheany presented his financial report and Shane O'Rourke updated all on progress undertaken in the ongoing improvements which took place in Pairc Sean O'Laodain during the year. Finally Club President Fr Tommy Greenan prayed for all those bereaved during the year and their families. With almost all committee members going forward into 2021, Chairperson Marie McGovern welcomed Noel O'Rourke and Padraig Flynn, who have joined the Club's Executive for 2021.

Leitrim Minors - hard luck to the Leitrim minors who despite their brave efforts came up short against Galway in their recent Connacht Championship encounter. Well done to clubman Shane Smith who played well in the forward line. He will be a welcome addition into the clubs senior ranks in 2021. Also Paul Flynn was a member of the squad and will be underage again for 2021.

National Club Draw 2021 - our club are once again participating in this draw where numerous fantastic prizes sponsored by the GAA are on offer. Tickets at €10 will be available to purchase online via our Facebook/Twitter pages where full prize details will be outlined. Tickets are also available from any member of the Clubs Executive as well as senior players. Your continuing support is greatly appreciated.
