Aughavas club notes

Junior A.

We played Sean O Heslins  in the junior A championship on Saturday last in Aughavas and after a good hours football we won comfortable by 3 goals 14 points to 1 goal 11 points, a good first half performance laid the foundations.  Well done to players and management.    Thanks to Terry Williams & Colm Moran  who had the  game live on the internet, up next is Carrigallen second team on Saturday week in Cloone,  As all games now are behind closed doors there will be no admittance to games for the public until the restrictions are lifted. 

St Josephs Ladies.

Our senior ladies were beaten by a good  Glencar Manor  team on Sunday last in Drumshanbo, Hard luck on the girls and management team, all good things must come to a end and ye gave us great days of entertainment over the last few years and winning 3 in a row was some achievement, Enjoy the break girls and hoping for next year again, thanks to Terry & Colm   who had the game live on facebook. The club would like to offer their condolences to Aidan Heron chairperson   of Leitrim ladies GAA  and the Heron family Drumshanbo on  the sad passing of Joe Heron, Aukland New Zeland,  Joe looked after lots of Leitrim and Aughavas  lads in New Zeland when they emigrated after the downfall . Lotto: We held our first lotto since lockdown on Saturday night last, thanks to Pauline and staff for their assistance on the night with all regulations adhered to.  Winners,  Barry Mc Kiernan, Stephen Keigheran,  Gerry Mc Intyre, John Farrelly,  Kieran Moran,  House prize sponsored by the Dugout, winner Edel Mc Loughlin,  Next draw on the 19th September,  Everyone get  selling,

It’s a girl

Congrats to Brid & Peter Mc Intyre, Corraneary  Aughavas on the birth of a baby girl called Michaela  during the week, Hopefully be a footballer in the future for St, Jodeph’s  just like its dad  Peter & the skilful  uncle Gerry Peter hopes to make a big return for the Junior C team in the  semifinal in two weeks time  great the old hamstring has cleared up.  Hoping mother and baby doing well, handy to have grandparents Michael & Dolores near hand for the bit of baby sitting
