The death has taken place of former Ballymacarbry and Waterford ladies football star Patricia Butler.
Patricia was one of the most decorated ladies footballers of all-time, winning four All-Ireland senior medals and one All-Ireland junior with Waterford as well as 10 All-Ireland club titles with Ballymacarby. Most of her successes came under the watch of former Waterford and Westmeath hurling manager Michael Ryan, who has managed / trained / coached 32 All-Ireland winning ladies football teams.
Patricia, who will be laid to rest in Fourmilewater tomorrow, was honoured at this year's All-Ireland ladies football finals in Croke Park as a member of the Waterford 1994 Jubilee team.
