Brian Cody will stay on as Kilkenny senior hurling boss after the James Stephens clubman was ratified by the county board for a 23rd consecutive year this evening.

James McGarry and Martin Comerford will continue as selectors but DJ Carey has vacated his role in the management team.

The most successful manager in inter-county hurling, 66-year-old Cody has guided the Cats to 11 All-Ireland titles, 16 Leinster titles and nine national leagues since taking the post in 1998.

Derek Lyng and Richie Mulrooney will also continue as U20 and minor managers, respectively.
