Former Carlow boss Luke Dempsey has taken over the reins of Kildare club Johnstownbridge.
Dempsey led St Loman’s to two Westmeath SFC titles before losing out in the Leinster club SFC final to Moorefield two years ago.
Prior to that he had led Moorefield to a Kildare senior crown in 2014 and has now returned to the county, having previously lined out with Johnstownbridge as a player for 10 years.
Dempsey is expected to have ace attacker Daniel Flynn at his disposal next season, along with experienced county men Paul and Keith Cribbin, as the north Kildare club bid for their first senior championship since claiming back-to-back successes an even three decades ago.
