Kerry attacker Paudie Clifford has described manager Jack O’Connor as “breath of fresh air” since taking over the group last September.

O’Connor succeeding Peter Keane after the conclusion of the 2021 All-Ireland SFC, marking his third stint as Kingdom boss.

Speaking to GAA.ie in the days after Kerry’s 83rd Munster championship triumph, Clifford says Keane deserves credit for the work he did with the team and feels O’Connor’s reign has brought “a new voice to the set-up”.

“Peter did a lot of great work and we were very close last year and then Jack came in, a new voice with new ideas,” he stated.

“He’s been a breath of fresh air to us, really. We’re really enjoying the training and really enjoying how we’re preparing for games. It’s just a new voice is the main thing.

“He knows...how would I put it, the right things to say to players before the game and they know their role from it.”
